Dudu Zuma Chooses Browns
Just like the oscars, when it came to an event like the wedding of President Zuma’s daughter Dudu, jewels for the occassion were taken on loan. Diamonds are synonmyous with South Africa and no African bride would be complete without a dazzling display. For Dudu there was no choice but South Africa’s leading diamond specialists Browns The Diamond Store.
She approached Browns Jewellers who were delighted to provide her and her retenue with a spectacular selection of diamond jewellery. For Dudu there was a custom made, cascading diamond necklace valued at over R1.5 million. It was made from 480 diamonds, hand selected to be perfectly matched, and which totaled an impressive 35 carats. The look was completed by a diamond bracelet of over 10 carats and a pair of diamond chandalier earrings valued at almost R150,000.
The bridesmaids were all bedecked with diamond earrings and gorgeous diamond necklaces totalling in excess of 66 carats. All in all 1,000 diamonds worn by the bride and her bridesmaids were valued at a spectacular R4.5 million Rand. “We consider ourselves extraordinarily lucky,” said Gavin Brown, “as jewellers, we get to share special occassions with our clients every day. We were delighted to be a part of Dudu’s very joyous day”.
