December 2008
As part of our giving back to the community initiative this festive season we have donated 1000 Browns Teddy Bears to underprivileged, sick and abused children all over South Africa.
We started off with a visit to Othandweni in South Soweto. Othandweni, meaning “Place of Love” in Zulu and Xhosa offers care for up to 90 children of all ages who have been abused, abandoned or neglected. Our teddy bear initiative offers all Browns employees the opportunity to get involved and nominate their favorite local orphanages and charities to receive bears. They then have the opportunity to personally visit the children and spread a little love with our cuddly bears. Smiles were brought to children all over the country from the Western Cape to Bloemfontein and Nelspruit to KZA.
Thanks to all of you who were involved and helped to make this happen. We are looking forward to doing it again next year.
