Browns Launch Protea Ring

South Africa is synonymous with diamonds and at Browns we wanted to celebrate this heritage and intimate association with diamonds in a uniquely South African way. It was out of this desire coupled with the search for a setting which would highlight and elevate the diamond that the Browns Protea ring was inspired.

The Protea is one of the world's most ancient flowers and one of South Africa's most unique and beautiful national treasures. They come in a variety of different forms but 92% of all the varieties are found only in South Africa. Because of their astounding variety they symbolise courage, flexibility & transformation.

The design of the Browns Protea ring has taken months to perfect and every aspect of this beautiful ring has been carefully considered. There is a perfect balance between durability and design. The setting has been carefully crafted to provide protection & strength whilst the petals which cradle the stone allow in plenty of light thereby showcasing the diamond and enhancing its brilliance and shine.

Did you know?
• There are numerous different types of Proteas, but 92% are found exclusively in South Africa.
• The King Protea is South Africa's national flower. It is also known as the "Mountain Rose"
• Proteas are a type of fynbos.
• The Fynbos Floral Kingdom of the Cape is recognised as the richest floral kingdom in the world. It has more than 3 times the variety of plant life than the South American rainforest.
