At Browns we aspire to create jewellery which is classical, timeless and sophisticated in style and of an exceptionally high quality. It was this quest for excellence and the desire to help skill the people within our ranks, that inspired us to established the Browns Training Academy. It is here that previously disadvantaged men and woman are trained to become skilled gemstone setters and goldsmiths.
These students, who have show extraordinary potential, are trained within a working environment in our own workshop. Here they are exposed first hand to the intricacies of fine jewellery making and to the standards that will be required of them if they are to become qualified Browns goldsmiths or gem setters. Some of the country’s most talented craftsmen and women can be found in the Browns workshop offering students a unique and rare opportunity to learn from the best.
In addition to the Browns Academy Browns have also trained and developed a team of previously unskilled woman to hand manufacture all of our display materials such as jewellery busts and display blocks and even some of our packaging. It is through providing training and jobs such as these that we endeavor to provide a means of livelihood and ultimately to contribute to uplifting the less privileged communities around us.
